I was a bit apprehensive about going into Olivia & Grey as I had often looked at the displays in the window and thought it might have been a bit upmarket for me. How wrong was I. The minute I was in the showroom I was made welcome and I felt so comfortable browsing round. I had gone in to look for some pieces for my kitchen and was delighted with my purchases. I have since redesigned my living room and with the support of the wonderful staff I now have an amazing room. I could never have achieved this without there guidance and advice. I had been looking to re design my lounge for some time and felt totally unsure as to what direction to take and on visiting Olivia and Grey a local home interior service in Hartlepool for inspiration (Proprietors husband and wife David and Jane Johnson) I was informed that they had a home design service available. A bit daunting but the best decision I have ever made.

David did a home consultation at a cost that was partially reimbursed if you purchased products. He is alike to an interior design psychologist listening to your likes, dislikes, looking at your needs, colours, auras, current room design and from there interior designer Natalie provides a computer image of what your room could look like with options. There is no pressure to proceed but I was unsure how my room could look with the options so opted for a 3D visualisation to make an informed decision. This service is amazing, everything is co-ordinated, measured and can be altered to needs and likes and gives a true reflection of the finished design.

Natalie one of the team designers sourced individual needs and room products always checking that you agree or wish to change and gave a totally professional, elegant, and agreed finish to the room.

Not forgetting Jane who was always on hand to inspire and advise.

Once the decision of refurbishment had been made and the plasterer, decorator, carpet, and blind fitter completed their work. David and Natalie arrived to assemble the interior products and they set to work with their work tools and transformed my lounge.

It may be a once in a lifetime experience, if so, I enjoyed it every step of the way with some anxieties which were dealt with by the team. On the whole journey I can honestly say that the service is amazing, and I am so grateful for the time, patience and expertise given by the whole Olivia and Grey team and would highly and totally recommend them to all friends, family, and colleagues.

I’ve been a customer since Olivia & Grey first opened and over the years, I had bought several items. One day I visited and got talking to Jane about my living/dining area and not knowing what to do with it, I didn’t know where to start but Jane told me about the interior design service, and I felt like it was meant to be. The next day David visited me at home, and he highlighted ways in which the space could be improved to better suit me and the way I live. David was very honest, and he picked up on the fact that the decorative items in my kitchen were reflective of my personality, but the living/dining area wasn’t ‘me’.

We established my budget and the items that needed to stay in the space such as the sofa, curtains, and a piece of artwork from where I had lived in Italy that was very special to me and evoked precious memories. David took all this into account and built the scheme to compliment and enhance these things. Before, my artwork was on the wall behind my sofa but now it sits pride of place above my fireplace where I can sit and enjoy it. David put me in touch with fantastic local contractors, he helped me pick everything from flooring, wall finishes, furniture and accessories and then held my items in the warehouse whilst work was being done. Then David and Natalie came and installed everything for me, the whole process was so easy.

I was so chuffed to have an interior designer on board, you’d think that it wouldn’t be affordable and is only for rich people, but it isn’t. The team are all so lovely, down to earth and they take the time to actually get to know you, tailoring the design to who you are as person. They pushed me out of my comfort zone in the best way possible. I’ve never had wallpaper before, and I wouldn’t have chosen it, but I absolutely love the way It looks in my home.

I wanted the space to be for me and Olivia and Grey achieved that, everyone who’s visited my home since has said it’s so different but just beautiful! It was and a privilege for me to get to know you all and feel part of a family that guide you in the right direction and don't push you to spend money.
